The Federal environment Minister Susan Ley has rejected two applications for Turtle Cove Haven Retirement Village based on advice she received from Professor Richard Fuller , a recognized wader bird specialist who has never visited the site , that a 250m buffer from HAT would be required , although he also advised that a ‘site specific study to determine the FID (flight initiation disturbance) distance should be conducted at TurtleCove , to determine at what distance a disturbance leads to the birds taking flight.

So we carried out some disturbances to calculate the FID and videod them.
